1. Who we are
HandTherapy.app (the "Service") is operated by the team building HandTherapy.app (the "Company", "we", "us"). The Service includes this website, the progressive web app, and any future mobile applications under the HandTherapy.app brand.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. People under 18 should only use the Service with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or clinician. The Service is not directed at children under 13.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service to provide medical advice to others.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.
- Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.
- Do not use the Service to harass, defraud, or harm others.
- Do not represent the Service as a medical device or certified product.
4. Health information you provide
You may choose to enter health-related information (symptoms, exercise performance, recovery context). You decide what to share. By default this information is stored locally on your device. If you opt in to cloud features, you grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to operate the Service for you.
See our Privacy policy and Cookie policy for specifics.
5. No medical advice or guarantees
The Service supports between-visit consistency and progress awareness. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, certify disability, replace clinician judgment, or guarantee any particular outcome. Always follow guidance from your surgeon, physician, or hand therapist over guidance from the Service.
6. Content and intellectual property
All content authored by us (text, illustrations, code, structured data) is owned by the Company or its licensors. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes related to your own recovery. Citations to third-party clinical sources remain the property of their authors and are used under fair-use principles for educational purposes.
7. Third-party links
The Service links to third-party clinical sources (e.g. AAOS OrthoInfo, ASSH). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content. Their inclusion is not an endorsement of any commercial product.
8. Service changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice for material changes that affect saved data. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. The Service is an educational and self-tracking tool and is not a substitute for professional medical care.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms, harm other users, or attempt to compromise the Service.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Company is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain in effect.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, announced in the app.
13. No emergency use; no clinician–patient relationship
The Service is not monitored for emergencies. If you may be experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or seek urgent in-person care. Do not rely on email, waitlist replies, or in-app forms for urgent clinical decisions.
Using the Service alone does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–patient, or other licensed clinician–patient relationship with us. Any clinician relationship you have is with your own providers.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact channels published in the app and on this site at launch.
